The Vision
Pilgrims to the Holy Land have the unique opportunity to experience the gospel of Christ where it happened. The Domus Jerusalem, as a place of pilgrimage and spiritual retreat, will be a place of prayer, dialogue and communion among Christians, Jews, and Muslims.
Generations of Christians struggle for peace and a place to worship in the holy city of Jerusalem. The atmosphere of Jerusalem remains tense. Christians are a minority in the Middle East, depending on the cooperation and good will of their Jewish and Muslim neighbors for the security of our most precious holy sites. The building of a prominent center for the Catholic Church will be a sign that Christianity is alive and always new.
In a modern culture which denies the relevance of the gospel in a rapidly changing world, the Holy Spirit intervenes and inspires new ways for God to reach His people. The Domus Jerusalem will reflect the presence of Christ in the city of Jerusalem.
